Access Solutions

Disability Discrimination Act 1995

Calandine is fully conversant with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 Act that came into force on 2nd December 1996 when it became unlawful for service providers to treat disabled people less favorably.

Progressively since that date the law has sought to remove barriers and make accessibility for those with physical challenges less of an issue.

A check list of matters has been drawn up and they form the basis of our approach to implementing lift solutions that come within the spirit and meaning of the act. We aim to meet these items as a minimum and aim to provide the best possible solution for those at a physical disadvantage

Environment

Calandine will take all possible measures to ensure our operations have a minimum impact on the environment. At both site and office levels we are committed to reducing waste, recycling of materials and the selection of environmentally friendly products.

We source, where possible, our products locally to minimise the impact on the environment of pollution caused by transportation. When evaluating design elements we consider using low energy products and carefully select materials with the benefit of the environment in mind.

We take into account the most efficient way of carrying out the works while respecting the immediate, local and global environments.

Our key objective when launching the environmental policy was to instil in the entire workforce a culture of concern for the environment outside as well as inside the workplace.
